Apple’s $299 Wall Mounted HomeView leaves the mount off the bill
Apple prices the Wall Mounted HomeView at $299, then sells the hardware needed to put it on a wall separately, starting at $59.
Apple announced two $299 HomeView smart display configurations: one with a speaker base and one labeled “Wall Mounted.” The label describes where the latter model is meant to go, while its advertised price does not include the hardware that puts it there.
The Verge reports that Apple discloses the extra purchase in small print on the HomeView announcement page. The mounts required to attach the Wall Mounted model are sold separately, with prices starting at $59.
For someone choosing the wall configuration, the practical entry price is therefore at least $358 before tax: $299 for HomeView and $59 for a mount.
